What Mesh Adds to Teams

Mesh extends Teams in two ways:

Avatars — Customisable 3D avatars that represent you in meetings instead of (or alongside) your video feed. Avatars track head movement and use AI to animate expressions and hand gestures without requiring VR hardware — the avatar responds to your microphone activity and, if you have a webcam, to basic facial cues. You can use your avatar in any Teams meeting.

Immersive spaces — Pre-built 3D environments (a lakehouse, a boardroom, a cityscape rooftop) that participants enter and move through, rather than the standard Teams meeting grid.
